Don’t miss the private view of photographer Nick Rochowski’s latest exhibition which opens this evening at 6:30pm at 60 Threadneedle Street, London, EC2R 8HP.

The Liminal Points Project is a collaborative project with Greg Haynes that re-explores both Penn Wood, Buckinghamshire and a journey of disconnection from the day-to-day, back to a vivid childhood fantasy.

Nick Rochowski’s practice involves extensive observation and explorative research of either a historical or changing landscape, built environment or interior space. Working at dawn, dusk and night blending natural and constructed lighting techniques in conjunction with elements from the landscape, the betwixt, large-scale images lie in a place that is somewhere between realities, as if you have stumbled upon a happening.

Through repeatedly visiting the same landscape over a period of 3 ½ half years, the scenes represent physical explorations of psychological experiences. There is a power nature holds when one is left alone with it and is something resonates in all people.

There will be a book produced by Rokov Publishing that will accompany the exhibition.

One of the latest editions to our stock inventory and a piece of kit that we really are enjoying is the Okii Systems USB Focus Controller.

The Okii Systems USB Focus Controller is a battery powered handheld USB host device designed to control certain Canon EOS Digital SLR camera that use Canon’s USB protocol.

The controller uses the motor in the lens to control focus even while recording video. Additional switches can be used to access important camera functions such as recording start/stop, digital zoom to aid with focusing, engaging autofocus, saving focus points, and adjusting certain camera settings.

For remote applications, the USB Focus Controller has been tested past 25 metres using normal (non-powered) USB extension cables. The HDMI output of the camera is not interrupted, which means that the controller can be simultaneously used with an external monitor.

Check out the latest copy of Volt magazine that features an eight page spread by photographer Jeon Seung Hwan.

Jeon chose to shoot the spread in our 900 sq. foot studio earlier this year, utilising our space and our instantly available equipment. The initial photograph beginning the story in the magazine can be seen above which leads onto a number of fantastic shots that explores the creative incorporation of graffiti with high end fashion photography.

Forwards, Backwards and Forwards Again is the upcoming exhibition curated by a friend of RGB, photographer and videographer Tim Bowditch.

The exhibition will mark the third and final stage of the ‘Firedive’ project. Last year saw a special outdoor screening of the film about La Vallette pools, at Guernsey Swimming Club’s 125th Anniversary Floodlit Gala. Three London based artists were invited to the island to make new artwork in response to the film screening, the gala, and the bathing pools.

For Forwards, Backwards and Forwards Again, the artists David Angus, Sybella Perry and Theo Niderost present the work they made whilst on the island; including video, photography, and kinetic sculpture alongside Bowditch’s Firedive. The new work explores and celebrates the unique environment of Guernsey’s coast.

An all-in-one invite/gallery guide/poster has been produced especially for the show that includes an essay about the project written by Matthew de Kersaint Giraudeau and is accompanied by the image above created by Theo Niderost.

Photographer Nadav Kander was recently commissioned by The New York Times Magazine to capture a number of infamous actors known for their work in London theatre. The images can be seen in this weekend’s Guardian Weekend Magazine and include Eileen Atkins, Judi Dench, Mark Rylance and Patrick Stewart.

This year brings the expansion of what is now named the London Festival of Photography, the growth of the event has resulted in the content to stretch beyond it’s roots in street photography to including both documentary and conceptual work.

With more venues, more artists, new collaborations and exciting participatory projects, the second edition will see London’s fastest-growing cultural hub, King’s Cross, transformed into a hive of activity for photography-lovers of all levels.

The festival will take place for the whole month of June with 20 exhibitions and over 40 events located mainly in and around King’s Cross and Bloomsbury.

Look out for the launch of the festival with a series of events commencing on 30 & 31 May 2012.

The awards are recognized as the leading global photographic awards programme in existence today.
